another zbrush sketch

Writer's picture: pavelpavel

A few hours of noodling around over a couple of evenings. I took some liberties with anatomy here, so it's not entirely human, but I don't mind the result.

I am enjoying the somewhat loose approach to these sketches. Some of the lines are a little gestural, but I like the way they lay, even if they are a little superficial at times.

I primarily use the clay buildup brush to scribble the forms onto the surface, which sometimes leaves a pleasant texture. Trying to ween myself off the smooth brush entirely, at least during the sculpting phase. I go back and selectively smooth a few flat areas at the end, so the surface texture doesn't get destroyed.

I am still trying to figure out how to render something out of Zbrush that looks half-way decent, without throwing the mesh into Maya.

I'd like to try something other than a dude face.
